Pinching Seed Leaves

So you've planted your seeds and the first leaves have appeared. They are most likely two nice, round leaves. These are the 'seed leaves' which give the seed enough energy to send down a root and push the first true leaves out. After you have two or three true leaves, you need to pinch off the seed leaves. They have done their job and the energy now needs to go to the true leaves.

You can use your thumbnail and forefinger to remove a seed leaf as long as your nails are long and strong enough. Otherwise, use a pair of scissors. Do not pull, yank or tear.
This will help your plant grow stronger faster.
